QUESTION LG K42 LM-K420EMW question

Hello to all

I have in hand LM-K420EMW wich is locked by pattern i see in tool that can be unlocked so i have few question
1. Can that be done with Unlock Tool ?
2. In what state need to be phone ( Powered ON , download Recovery ETC )
Any kind off help will be nice

OK , but if im right FRP reset will delete all data ?, or im wrong i need to remove Pattern without data lost
